The Stifford Academy (TSA) is the new training brand from the Stifford Centre, a registered charity whose IT training efforts began in 2002 with the launch of one of the largest advanced ICT projects in the country, co-financed by Jobcentre Plus and ESF. We took delegates with basic IT skills through to Cisco CCNA level. Built on the success of this project, we added to our accreditations and began delivering Microsoft accredited courses. We also became a VMware IT Academy, giving us the ability to teach authorised VMware courses. We are also excited about delivering new courses under the Citrix IT Academy programme.
The Stifford Academy Difference
If you are already in employment but due to your commitments (e.g. boss will not release you for a course), you may struggle to attend a typical week or two-week course.
With TSA’s evening courses, you can now enjoy quality accredited training with only a small commitment from you. As our courses take longer than traditional 5-day courses, your ability to absorb and retain the material you have covered is much more improved. You will have the luxury to ponder over difficult concepts for a week before progressing to the next class. And you will have ample opportunties to ask questions of your instructor between classes to ensure a thorough grasp of the technologies covered.
Our instructor-led courses are such good value for money, you can be spared from the rigours of self-study. E-learning has received a lot of hype in recent years and had been touted to replace the classroom but it is not for everyone. If you are one of those that finds themselve snoring after a few minutes of the latest CBT video guide, this course is for you.
As a not-for-profit organisation , we do not have shareholders and investors to worry about. Our part-time structure also means that we do not have to hire full-time staff. We have also made full use of the latest technologies and services out there to make significant savings on administration.
We believe that there should be no compromise in the quality of the training in order to achieve lower costs. We can however leave out some of the nice-to-haves provided by the other training providers such as full lunch, coffee on-tap, complimentary snacks and polished executive training centres. We audit our classes regularly to ensure that standards are maintained and this is apart from compulsory assessments carried out by course vendors.
We think our courses are awesome but there is always room for improvement and we take student feedback seriously. Should we add more content to a course after you have finished with us, come back for a free retake. See FAQ for more details.
